Matt Willms Heading to UTEP

Standing 7-feet tall, Matt Willms is still a project. After spending his senior year at Findlay Prep in Nevada, though, this center has improved in a variety of ways. He made the next big step in his basketball career by deciding where he would play next year.
UTEP picked up a verbal commitment from the center originally from Canada. Willms attended school in Michigan until he made the move to play for Michael Peck at Findlay Prep this year.

"I am officially a UTEP Miner," he tweeted. Willms was sold on the school following an official visit last weekend. He chose the Texas school over Long Beach State, Marquette, Missouri, Providence, UNLV and others.
He will join an impressive 2012 class for Tim Floyd, which features Twymond Howard and Chris Washburn .
With the addition of a major presence inside, the Miners could make a major push in Conference USA down the road. While it would have been nice to keep Anthony January committed, grades obviously brought that down as he will head to prep school next year. Never the less, this squad is looking sharp for the future.
