Kaleb Joseph Dominates NPSI

Providence, RI - Kaleb Joseph asserted his talent at the National Prep School Invitational on Saturday, but many other recruits showed why they are among the elite in the nation.
Joseph Just To Much

From no look passes to mid-range jump shots, the smooth approach on the court presented by 2014 6-foot-3 Cushing Academy (MA) point guard Kaleb Joseph on Saturday was proof of why he is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation.
The No. 61 player in the Rivals150 showed a flashy, but patient, approach on offense and made tough moves look very simplistic in quick ways. As his ability to create scoring opportunities for teammates, Joseph also scored in a variety of ways.
This has led to offers from Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee, Seton Hall, Providence, Boston College, Maryland, Kansas State and West Virginia. As new interest is coming in from Duke, Ohio State, Marquette, Miami and Florida State, Joseph has one visit in mind.
"I may visit Syracuse as early as this week since we are off," he told Rivals.com following his game. "If not, I want to visit in the spring, but I will also make it over to the Providence campus."
If Joseph can continue his tear, more high-major coaches will be calling him a "pro" just as some already have.
Potential in the Air
Worcester Academy (MA) and Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) have special big men brewing. Long and skilled in a variety of ways, the upside of 2014 power forward Matt Cimino and 2015 power center Josh Sharma are through the roof.
Cimino is a great inside and out system player who can rebound, run the floor and shoot it well. He has a similar game to Richmond sophomore Luke Piotrowski, but with a high-major body and skill set. The stretch four holds offers from Boston College, Kansas State and Virginia, with interest from Gonzaga, Stanford, Providence and Notre Dame.
Shama, on the other hand, is rail thin and still finding his footing on the court. Regardless, he has three years to go and a lot of upside at 6-foot-11. A defensive oriented big man, Sharma is picking up on his overall offense. His presence in the post is improving, but he must gain strength. As he is starting to finish at the rim, his consistency in the post and on the glass must continue to rise. Kansas State, UMass, Providence and Lehigh have offered, while Duke, Syracuse and Maryland have been inquiring. The sophomore has only been playing basketball since his eighth grade year, surprisingly.
Stages of Improvement
Duane Notice, Jared Terrell and Marial Shayok are all starting to take their game to another level, and it was shown on Saturday.
Notice, a 2013 combo guard from St. Thomas More (CT), is on the verge of earning high-major offers. With that being said, he could come in and make a tremendous impact in a conference like the Atlantic-10. With a mature body, one can notice that Notice's shooting, decision making and defense standout from the get go. As he will definitely visit Duquesne officially, he will begin taking visits in the middle of February or March. Loyola Marymount, Purdue, St. Bonaventure, West Virginia, Detroit, Nebraska, UConn, Tennessee and others are also involved and in the running for the other four official visits.
Accuracy and making smart shots are assets all shooting guards need to improve upon. Not only did 2014 Brewster Academy (NH) shooting guard Jared Terrell do that, but he redefined his body a bit. Not as streaky on the court, Terrell is becoming a much more consistent finisher, who is strong and in much better shape. While his handle is still an area of concern, the No. 28 player in the Rivals150 will need to keep working on his shot and handle to become the complete package. As a package deal with his AAU teammate, Abdul-Malik Abu, may or may not happen, Terrell believes Rutgers, Miami, UConn and Cincinnati are recruiting him the hardest of those who have offered, which also includes Providence, St. John's, SMU, Kansas State, Tennessee and Iowa State. Oddly enough, SMU coach Larry Brown's daughter attends his school.
The month-by-month improvement of 2014 Blair Academy (NJ) wing Marial Shayok has been quite impressive. Standing 6-foot-7, and being able to play any position on the court, Shayok has picked up offers from Boston College, Georgia, Seton Hall, Villanova and Providence within the past few weeks. As he is incredibly versatile on both ends, he has the chance to play the two-guard in college, and could spend some time as a point guard. A native of Canada, Shayok has a similar body, as well as habits, craftiness and versatility, to Providence signee Brandon Austin. While his handle can still use some work, he is tremendous in transition when the ball is in his hands.
Maryland Minute
At 10-9, Wilbraham & Monson (MA) isn't having the strongest of seasons with the preseason hype on their side. Despite this, their players' recruitments are flourishing.
Earlier in the week, the Maryland staff hosted 2014 power forward Goodluck Okonoboh, 2015 shooting guard Luis Montero and 2016 point guard Mustapha Heron for an unofficial visit in which all three were officially offered by the school.
For Montero, a native of the Dominican Republic, this was the first school he has been linked to other than Kentucky, due to his roots. Okonoboh's offers are piling up as Marquette, Missouri, Syracuse, Kentucky, Gonzaga and others are heavily involved. Heron, who told Rivals.com earlier in the winter that his dream school was Florida, is being tracked by Miami, UConn, Syracuse and many more.
While they struggled as a group against Notre Dame Prep (MA), the talent still remains promising. If they can gel on the defensive end and work together on offense, the season is still promising.
Mid-Major Moves
St. Thomas More (CT) holds two talented mid-major level seniors with the first name Marquis. Marquis Salmon and Marquis Moore are gaining a lot of notoriety. Salmon, a small forward by way of California, is a former Fresno State commit with looks from Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, NJIT, Colgate, Morgan State, Pepperdine and others. Moore, a point guard by way of New York, holds offers from Rider and Hofstra, which he landed this past week.
2013 Brewster Academy (NH) point guard Martez Harrison is one of the few talented point guards available, and has made the most out of it. The Kansas City native is being tracked hard by Fresno State, St. Bonaventure, Hofstra, UNC-Wilmington and others. After the season, similar to most, he will begin the official visit process.
2013 Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) forward Josh Hearlihy has benefitted making the move from California to the New England Prep scene. An excellent defender with a filled out body, who can play on the inside and outside, Hearlihy is being tracked down by Old Dominion, Santa Clara, Rice, Elon, Charlotte, Pepperdine and many more. Recently, schools such as Maryland and Pittsburgh inquired about his services.
Blair (NJ) has a trio of mid-major recruits in 2013 center David George, 2014 shooting guard Mike Silverthorn and 2014 point guard Kevin Seymour. George, who holds no offers, is hearing a lot from UMBC, Colgate and Dartmouth, while Silverthorn and Seymour are attracting NEC, America East and Patriot League schools, according to their coach, Joe Mantegna.
2014 Rise Academy (PA) wing Kyle Kuzma is making the adjustment from a midwest style of hoops to a quicker east coast pace. UC-Irvine, Bradley, Oakland and Detroit have offered.
Recruiting Recognition
2013 Notre Dame Prep (MA) power forward Matthew Atewe should be cutting his list down soon, and hopes to make a college decision in the near future.
2015 Cushing Academy (MA) guard Jalen Adams has boosted his stock this winter. While he isn't flashy, he gets the job done in his own way. Kansas State, UConn and Providence are his lone offers with Notre Dame, Marquette, Clemson, Villanova, Butler, Pittsburgh and more looking at him.
2013 Worcester Academy (MA) power forward Darryl Reynolds is aiming at playing both forward positions in college. Ultimately, he will have to find the right school for him. With some desire to go out west, Reynolds is being carted hard by Boston College and Temple, who want him to take an official visit soon, plus Charlotte, St. Bonaventure, UNC-Greensboro and many others.
2014 St. Andrew's (RI) duo Bonzie Colson and Henry Bolton didn't have their best showing, but demonstrated upside, regardless. Colson, whose father played at Rhode Island, is an undersized power forward with offers from Vermont, Fairfield, George Washington, Rhode Island, Seton Hall and Boston. Bolton, a guard who shoots it well, has Boston and Rhode Island offers but continues to improve his game.
2016 Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) guard Ian Sistare is considered as the younger brother to the older players on John Carroll's talented team. A recruit prided on his defense, Sistare is very fascinated by Boston College because of how hard they are recruiting him early on. "I like them a lot because of how coach Donahue is taking the program to a different level," he told Rivals.com. Providence and Vermont are also expressing a fair amount of interest.
