Recruiting Rundown
2016 Dallas Mustangs (TX) power forward Nate Morris is drawing rave reviews, and he there are many reasons from his play on the court that validate it. He runs the floor well, protects the rim with his length and has a soft touch that has improved. Morris - who plays high school ball with Elijah Thomas - holds offers from SMU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, UConn & Arkansas with interest from Creighton, USF and St. John's. His upside is very high and most people in the state of Texas feel he is one of the better sophomore in the state.
2015 Louisiana Dynasty (LA) guard Christon Thompson does a good job of shoot it and beating his defender off the dribble. Holding strong perimeter skills, and being a good slasher and passer, Thompson caught the attention of many college coaches this weekend. UAB is recruiting him the hardest, and is the only school to offer along with Richmond. Interest is coming in from Tulane, Texas Tech, Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech. The Louisiana native hopes to visit Texas, Texas A&M and UAB in the future.
2015 Florida Vipers (FL) point guard Jose Morales reminds most of former VCU point guard Joey Rodriguez because of how hard he plays, and his defensive prowess. Morales makes his teammates better by doing the little things in hustling and diving for loose balls, and scoring when needed. Only 5-foot-9, he holds offers from UCF, Akron, Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Jacksonville. Most Ivy League schools are recruiting him, and he is waiting to find out if his test scores are high enough to gain admittance to an Ivy school. If this happens, Morales said that it is, "hard to say no to the Ivy League." Look for him to wind up in the Ivy League if the recruit with a 4.3 GPA can continue to get it done in the books.
2015 Florida Vipers (FL) center Antonio Vrankovic is the son of former NBA player Stojko Vrankovic, and the Croatian 7-footer has many advantages in the post. While he is still raw and improving, the rising senior uses his size to his advantage, has soft hands, can score around the basket at times, and also has a high IQ which helps him find his teammate for open shots. Charlotte is his only offer, but interest ranges from Ivy and Patriot League schools to BCS level schools in Miami, Georgia, Florida State and Vanderbilt to mid-majors in Florida Gulf Coast and William & Mary. He does indicate that Florida Gulf Coast is recruiting him the hardest.
